    "Onslaught was one of those massive comic “events” that was supposed to shake up the Marvel Universe. Or was it a ploy to sell books? Either way, it came with a big X-Men-focused story where the status quo was shaken up, at least for a while. Back in the day, big comic events were fodder for dedicated trading card sets — especially since Marvel was the one making them.
    1996 Fleer/SkyBox Marvel Ultra Onslaught trading cards live up to the high-quality of the Ultra brand, but the narrow subject matter has caused it to become somewhat overlooked today.
    The 100-card base set centers largely on the characters featured in the story line, which amounts to a huge portion of the Marvel Universe. Artwork comes from several artists and is higher quality than what’s found in a lot of comic sets. Card backs fill in the details of the story.
    Leading the inserts are autographs signed by Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld and Stan Lee. Liefeld and Jim Lee each have one card while Stan Lee signed two different cards. Each autograph is limited to 100 copies."
